Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Motor Log AI iOS app (the “App”) and the website at https://getmotorlog.com (the “Site”).

By creating an account, signing in, starting a trial, purchasing Motor Log Pro, or otherwise using the App or Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App or Site.

Motor Log AI is an iOS app that helps vehicle owners track maintenance checklists, scheduled service, reminders, official recall information, and optional AI-assisted guidance (maintenance research when adding a vehicle, DIY insight, owner/community insights, and overview insights).

The App is not currently available on Android or Google Play.

We may improve, change, or discontinue features over time.

Free includes one active vehicle, logging maintenance, checklists, recall lookup, and reminders. Legacy accounts may keep more than one vehicle until they add another car or otherwise hit the Free cap.

Motor Log Pro unlocks:

• Up to five vehicles in one garage
• AI features: DIY walkthroughs, owner/community insights, overview insights, and maintenance research when adding a car

Feature availability and limits may change. Free users can skip the post-sign-in paywall and use core Free features without purchasing.

You must sign in with Apple or Google to use the App’s cloud features. You are responsible for activity under your account.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required where you live) to use the App or Site.

You may delete your account in the App at any time (Account → Delete Account). Deleting your account erases garage data we control, cancels Motor Log Pro where we can (Web Billing immediately; App Store subscriptions through Apple’s subscription settings, which the App opens during deletion), and removes Pro entitlements in the App.

Motor Log Pro is sold as an auto-renewable subscription. Current in-app products (prices shown in the App and may change):

• Yearly Motor Log Pro, with a free trial where Apple determines eligibility
• Monthly Motor Log Pro, with a free trial where Apple determines eligibility

App Store (StoreKit) purchases

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, or after a free trial if you do not cancel in time.
• The subscription automatically renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or from Account in the App. Restore Purchases is available on the paywall and on Account.
• Billing terms, renewals, cancellations, and refunds for App Store purchases are governed by Apple’s Media Services Terms. We do not control Apple refunds.

Optional web checkout

Eligible customers may also purchase through RevenueCat Web Billing in Safari. That purchase is completed on the web, not through Apple. Apple is not responsible for the privacy or security of purchases made on the web. Web billing terms, taxes, and refunds are presented in that checkout flow. Managing or restoring a web purchase may require signing in with the same Motor Log AI account used at checkout.

RevenueCat may be used to link entitlements to your account so Pro unlocks consistently across devices.

Cancel before the renewal date to avoid further charges.

The App and Site provide general informational tools and AI-generated suggestions. They do not constitute professional automotive, mechanical, safety, legal, insurance, or warranty advice.

You remain solely responsible for the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of your vehicle. Always follow manufacturer guidance, heed official recall notices, and consult a qualified mechanic when appropriate.

AI outputs can be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Recall data comes from public sources (including NHTSA) and may not be complete or current. Do not rely on the App as a substitute for an owner’s manual, a licensed mechanic, or official safety guidance.

You agree not to:

• Misuse the App or Site, including probing, disrupting, or attempting unauthorized access
• Upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content
• Abuse AI features (for example automated scraping or excessive load)
• Reverse engineer or redistribute our non-public service components except as allowed by law
• Misrepresent your identity
• Circumvent Free / Pro feature or vehicle limits

You retain ownership of vehicle data and photos you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content as needed to operate the service, including:

• Storing garage data in Firebase
• Sending necessary vehicle/task context to AI providers for Pro features you use
• Sending a VIN you provide to NHTSA for decode and recall lookup
• Requesting optional vehicle illustrations from Imagin Studio using year, make, model, and similar attributes (not your VIN or photos)

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter.

The App uses third-party providers, including:

• Google Firebase (account, database, file storage, push, Cloud Functions)
• Apple and Google (sign-in and, for Apple, in-app purchases)
• Anthropic (AI inference via our backend)
• RevenueCat (subscription entitlements and optional web billing)
• NHTSA (VIN decode and recalls)
• Imagin Studio (optional vehicle illustrations)

Your use of those services is also subject to their applicable terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites, apps, or services linked from or integrated with the App or Site.

Motor Log AI branding, UI, and our original content are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

Third-party marks (including vehicle brands shown for illustration) belong to their owners and do not imply endorsement.

Our Privacy Policy at https://getmotorlog.com/privacy describes how we collect and use information, including VIN, photos, push tokens, and the processors listed above. By using the App or Site, you also acknowledge that policy.

THE APP AND SITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that AI guidance, checklists, reminders, or recall data are complete, accurate, or appropriate for your vehicle.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP OR SITE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP, SITE, OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100) OR (B) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR MOTOR LOG PRO IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

You agree to defend and indemnify Motor Log AI and its operators from claims arising out of your misuse of the App or Site, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

You may stop using the App at any time and may delete your account as described above.

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest revision. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where Motor Log AI operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protections provide otherwise.
